Well, obviously, as of a few days ago, chapter 28 was posted. I don't have much to say about that because... there isn't much to say
it is there, it exists now. Plus I said a lot in a really long author's note at the bottom of the chapter.
Anyway, this chapter was mostly filler, which was okay with me. Even though I feel like it isn't a very good chapter compared to the other ones, I, personally, really like it. Maybe its because I haven't really had a filler chapter in a long time.
The first half wasn't filler, that was necessary to stick with the canon Minister situation (if you're smart, you can look that up and realize what I mean by that, but I don't want to ruin anything by posting what happens here). It's also setting up for a character death, which I 'think' will be happening in the next chapter, but it's all going to depend on how much room I have to address everything. I try not to limit it, but at the same time, i don't want an 8k chapter, and if I have to cut it short and put something off until later, I will.
So anyway, the second half was nice and fun
I enjoyed getting them all together again, even if I didn't really include Remus and Peter much. In my head, they all enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of hanging out and eating cake. Not much to write about there
But I really liked giving Lily and James an arguement. One of the things with this story was that I wanted them to have fights and not always get along. They are really young, after all.
I thought about writing the argument out, but I kind of liked having it from Sirius's POV, where the reader, like Sirius, doesn't know about it ahead of time. So yeah. There is that. And because of the argument, I'm pretty sure Petunia will be getting married in the next chapter (which is why I was worried about having room for the character death.)
Anyway
Things are moving along now with the story. James's birthday is done, so now its going to be April. I can't believe it. Even though it's taken forever to get to this point (and April certainly isn't anything important), it's exciting to progress further into the year. Very soon, it will be 1 year since they left Hogwarts, 1 year since they joined the Order. And soon after that, Lily will become pregnant with Harry. In between now and then, I have a few more deaths to write (including Regulus Black), a few more battles (I've been building on the giants for a while), and James and Lily should be getting married. And then when January rolls around again, it will be time for the prophecy and traitor stuff. And then AFTER Harry is born, then I get to do more war stuff, but also baby/family stuff too.
SO that was a mighty fine ramble
I'm just happy to be progressing. There's a lot going on from here on out in the story. You guys don't understand how hard it is to fill up time! I've tried to make things progress realistically, and so they slowly get deeper and deeper into it, with one thing leading to another all the time. I've had to make up things and situations and battles. It's just a relief to finally have some canon things going on as far as character deaths, and also I'm going to be starting with the 3 defiances soon ![]()
Gah, i'm excited. And scared. My list of chapters looks like this: "Chapter (#): Defiance 1." And that's it. I really haven't planned that thoroughly, I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I'm still excited ![]()
In other news, I'm going to try to get this website updated tomorrow. It's terribly out of date as far as the quotes page and timeline goes. I've done a few chapters without updating anything here.
